What is Models-based Practice
Models-based practice is a transformative approach to physical education that involves using different pedagogical models and units of work , each model/ unit with its own characteristics and learning outcomes that are designed to meet multiple educational goals (Casey, 2014 ; Casey and Kirk, 2024) . This is different to traditional physical education as that is an approach that is multi-activity and uses sport-technique based programs ( Casey and Kirk, 2020). Models-based practice is used as a tool to shift the focus from a one fits all traditional approach to a more pedagogical approach that is tailored to the individual ( Casey and Kirk, 202 4).
